Welcome to the NCAEE
Greetings Elementary Educators!
It is an honor to serve as the 2014-2015 President of the North Carolina Association of Elementary Educators. As this organization moves into its 12th year of advocating for and serving elementary educators and elementary level students, it continues to provide an avenue for high quality professional development and networking for elementary educators across the state. I am proud to say that I have been a part of this organization from its birth out of a conference sponsored by NCDPI (North Carolina Department of Public Instruction)over ten years ago. As a fourth grade teacher in Wayne County, I have found the annual conferences to be inspiring, uplifting, and full of very practical strategies that enhance the lessons and environment of my classroom.
Professional Development Opportunities
NCAEE continues to uphold a high standard of excellence in professional development, and this year we are proud to celebrate 11 years of making a difference. Our Annual Elementary School Conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Resort in the Charlotte/Concord area from October 18-20, 2015. More information about the conference will be available very soon.
NCAEE also offers professional development in each of the eight regions across the state. The participants of these workshops will not only gain valuable knowledge but also have an opportunity to win some fantastic door prizes. Prizes may include a Nook, a Kindle, or conference registration for our annual conference. Please visit our Regional News link to find more information about the regional conference in your area.
Grants and Awards
Educators who are now earning their advanced degrees will no longer be compensated for them. Therefore, NCAEE has decided to drop the scholarship for advanced degrees and replace it with a classroom innovation grant. Please continue to monitor this site for more information and the application.
The Newbie Award has been replaced with Donors Choose, which is a phenomenal way for teachers to finance projects in their classrooms. There will be a session provided at the conference to provide the opportunity for participants to submit proposals to be selected as a recipient of Donors Choose.
